On the afternoon of July 25th, the admission information session for Shanghai International Studies University’s 2011 MBA program were officially hold in SISU Conference Center. Dozens of students attended the conference with enthusiasm and expectation, despite the sudden shower at noon. Fan Zheng, Dean of College of International Business of SISU, delivered an excellent speech entitled “Management Philosophy of International Business”. Pan Cong, Executive Director of SISU MBA Center, introduced SISU MBA Program and shared the latest admission information.

2011 Admission process further optimized

Pre-retest policy was adopted in enrollment last year, the first year for SISU MBA program. Candidates, who passed the pre-retest, took in the national exam and met the eastern admission standards, would be admitted if they further met the requirements of political and physical examinations. 2011 enrollment continues to follow this policy and further optimizes the retest arrangements, enrollment scale and the program.

Since the very outset, SISU MBA program has been dedicated to cultivating “a new generation of borderless management elites on the basis of oriental philosophy”. In 2011, SISU MBA further specificizes SISU MBA students’ characteristics and qualities, namely “being happy to share and cooperate with others for common progress”, “international perspective, sensitivity and opening for different cultures”, “leadership potential and promising career development”, “strong interpersonal skills and attainment”, “personal integrity and responsibility”. Candidates who are the fittest for the cultivation aim will be admitted, based on assessments of such aspects as application materials, interviews and management ability.

In 2011, four pre-retests are scheduled from September. Candidates can choose a convenient time for retest according to their own situations. The planned enrollment scale is further expanded to 180 – 200. Meanwhile, 2011 SISU MBA program highlights SISU’s discipline advantages and the enrollment for “bilingual program” and “English program” will be separately conducted. The “bilingual program” can help candidates to improve their English language proficiency as well as to pursue MBA studies. The tuition for 2011 SISU MBA program will be also readjusted.

At the end of the conference, Ms. Pan reminded candidates of several things. First, special attention should be paid to different deadlines for the four pre-retests, such as deadlines for application and submission of materials, time for notification of retest schedule and results. Second, requirements for the two programs are slightly different and the instructions on SISU MBA Center’s website are worth close attention. Besides, MBA center is to hold a series of promotion conferences, which are sure to be helpful to candidates. Consulting hotlines are open for 2011’s enrollment. If there are any questions, candidates are welcome to call at 021-65311900/55382780, or email to mba@shisu.edu.cn for further information.
