SISU volleyball players
From September 20th to 22nd, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) held the Shanghai Campus League of Volleyball’s Beach Volleyball Championship for college students 2019 and the 14th Beach Volleyball Selection Trials for college students of National Student Sports Games. During the three-day event, 39 teams from various colleges and universities in Shanghai played 83 exciting matches.
The event was hosted by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and Shanghai Administration of Sports, organized by Federation of University Sports of Shanghai and Shanghai Campus Volleyball Federation and co-organized by Volleyball Branch of Federation of University Sports of Shanghai, Shanghai Volleyball Association, SISU and Oriental Sports Daily.
With full vigor and team spirit, SISU’s high-level women’s volleyball team completed clean sweep, winning both the champion and the first runner-up. SISU athletes also performed remarkably during the lower-level games, snatching second place for men and the fifth place for women.
The event was also a selection trial for Team Shanghai for the Beach Volleyball Games at the 14thNational Student Sports Games. As champion, SISU has already been qualified. Later, its high-level volleyball athletes will be selected and join the college student beach volleyball team of Shanghai. The players will receive professional training and compete at the National Students Sports Games 2020 in Qiangdao.
