Algerian media delegation visited China-Arab Research Center on Reform and Development (CARC) at SISU on Sep. 13 to strengthen the media communication between China and Algeria.
The delegation, consisting of 14 representatives from 12 Algerian mainstream media, visited a picture exhibition showing the history of CARC.
The representatives appreciated CARC’s effort in promoting Sino-Algeria relationship. They said that the center could continue to play a role in the cooperation and communication between the two sides.
Professor Smail Debeche, president of China-Algeria Friendship Association, said he hoped to work more closely with CARC and jointly hold a seminar on Sino-Algeria relations.
“I really hope that we can have more opportunities to learn from China’s development experience, especially in making long-term plans,” said Amina Debbache, president of The People which is a major newspaper in Algeria.
Professor Wang Guangda, the general secretary of CARC, gave a speech on China’s economic achievement and experience since 1949, as well as the prospect of future.
Wang emphasized the economic transition from high-speed to high-quality development, and the new development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing, which is now implemented by China.
Ibtisam, a visiting professor from the University of Baghdad in Iraq, introduced the Belt and Road Initiative from an Arabian scholar’s perspective. She also talked about the development of the Forum on Sino-Algeria cooperation.
Chen Yueyang, an associate professor, reviewed China-Algeria relationship throughout the history with emphasis on the bilateral cooperation in the infrastructure construction.
Algeria is one of the first Arabian countries that established strategic partnership with China.
