Thus, you are welcomed to pay a visit to China.”
These books are English versions of some Chinese traditional classics, including The Story of the Stone, Tang Poetry Anthology, Selected Poems of Qu Yuan and so on. All are parts of SFLEP Bilingual Collection of Chinese Classical Literature.
With an affiliate to Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), SFLEP distinguishes itself by its outstanding dedication to advance language education and research. As one of most prestigious university presses in China, it has launched a series of publications to promote Chinese culture globally.
“Classics are treasures of one country because they can express thoughts and values of people living in this land by words and sentences,” said an editor of SFLEP, “translating these books into other languages is the best way to promote Chinese culture, making it known and understood by more foreigners. In this way China and other countries are more likely to reach agreements on many issues. ”
The next step of SELEP is said to organize more language educators, lexicologist, and scholars to publish some other language versions of these precious Chinese classics. It aims to express China by words and make more foreigners fall in love with Chinese culture.
