The 10th China-Japan Media Dialogue Conference was held in Shanghai this Monday. Cui Yuying, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and deputy director of the State Council Information Office attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Cui reviewed the course of China-Japan media talks in the past eight years and approved the events that build an important platform for the two countries to deepen understanding, expand consensus and promote friendship.
Cui said in the speech that dialogue is communication. Therefore she put forward three points: firstly, to do more to promote mutual understanding; secondly, to strengthen all aspects of exchanges; thirdly, to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
In the two-day meeting, 17 Chinese and Japanese senior media persons including Shanghai eastday.com president Xu Shiping, experts and scholars will exchange views frankly on the topics such as the four-point agreement on bilateral relations reached by China and Japan.
During the meeting, Chinese and Japanese media people also had a discussion with the teachers and students from School of Journalism and Communication of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), and visited the Site of CPC 1st National Congress.
