State Council counselor gives lecture on Chinese economy in Italy

rofessor Xia Bin, a State Council counselor of the Chinese government, recently gave a lecture on Chinese economy in the Confucius Institute at Oriental Studies University of Naples, Italy. The institute is a partner of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU).

Beginning with explaining why Chinese economy developed rapidly from 2002 to 2012, Xia introduced China’s economic situation, the United States’s economic turmoil as well as the reaction of China and the world. Then he talked about the politics and strategies that China took for the crisis, also the good tendency and byproducts after their implement. 

The Italian and Chinese Students discussed about Xia’s opinions and raised some questions according to their own knowledge, to which were responded by Xia’s vivid answers.

Xia Bin is a research fellow and honorary Director-General of the Research Institute for Finance of the Development Research Center of China's State Council.
