hanghai International Studies University (SISU) was elected member of the Board of Directors of the newly-founded Silk-Road University Network (SUN).

The Inaugural Assembly of SUN started from August 21 in Gyeongju, South Korea, lasting for four days. 87 universities and institutions from 22 countries participated in the event.

During the inaugural ceremony, the representatives elected 21 universities to the Board of Directors of SUN, including SISU, Sultan Qaboos University, University of Kelaniya, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, University of Jordan, Erciyes Univeristy and Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

Professor Guo Shuyong, dean of SISU’s School of International Relations and Public Affairs as the representative of SISU, had communication about the future partnership among the Silk Road universities with the secretary of the Preparatory Committee of SUN and the representatives from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS).

SUN, established by HUFS earlier this year, is aimed at promoting academic cooperation and educational communication among universities near the Silk Road and rejuvenating the Silk Road spirit.
