On August 4, Jiang Feng, council chair of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) and Anja Senz, vice rector of Heidelberg University signed a new round of partnership agreement on behalf of the two universities. The agreement confirmed the further scientific research collaboration in fields, such as Eurasian studies, on the basis of the continuous support on partnerships in language teaching, Germanic language and literature, and Chinese language and literature, so as to increase faculty and student exchanges between the two universities.
The two sides also introduced the development of their respective schools in recent years and exchanged ideas on directions and possibilities of future exchanges and cooperation.
SISU has established a formal inter-school cooperative relationship with Heidelberg University since 1983, boasting a history of four decades of cooperation so far.
