On the morning of September 18, Dr. Rina Indiastuti, president of Padjadjaran University, Indonesia, led a delegation to visit Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). Jiang Feng, chair of the University Council, met with the guests at the International Education Center on Songjiang campus.
Jiang expressed that the longstanding relationship between the two universities has significantly promoted mutual understanding between the two peoples and sound development of bilateral relations. SISU has established Multilingual + talent training model and is willing to promote cooperation with Padjadjaran University in various fields. As artificial intelligence and linguistics are becoming increasingly integrated, laboratories of both sides can explore potential collaborations. SISU is also willing to strengthen cooperation with Padjadjaran University in the field of Chinese language teaching and engage in specific exchanges in comparative area studies.
Rina Indiastuti expressed that Padjadjaran University would continue to support the development of the Indonesian major at SISU as always, while expanding cooperation in fields such as literature, economics, and law. She also looked forward to receiving support of faculty and researchers from SISU in terms of Chinese language teaching and Chinese studies.
The two parties also discussed further expanding faculty and student exchanges, joint training programs, collaborative research, and sharing of electronic resources and online courses, with a special focus on exploring means of cooperation for cultivating high-level talents in language, culture, and law in the future. After the meeting, the two institutions renewed the ''Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between SISU and Padjadjaran University. ''
They also exchanged views with great interest on the contemporary challenges faced by universities, as well as their shared values, coping strategies, and resource mobilization for educational endeavors.
Officials from the School of Asian and African Studies, the School of Law, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, as well as faculty and students majoring in Indonesian from the School of Asian and African Studies, attended the meeting.
