On July 24, President Li Yansong met with Professor Jacques Frémont, President of University of Ottawa, Canada, Jiao Jie, Director of University of Ottawa’s International Cooperation Office in China, and their delegation at the Rhine Hall of International Conference Center of Hongkou Campus.
Li introduced SISU’s “Multilingual+” Initiative and the latest developments in interdisciplinary studies to the guests. He reviewed the pleasant and fruitful cooperations between the two universities, emphasized the importance of deepening their ties in the post-pandemic era, and made specific proposals for more comprehensive cooperation between the two universities, particularly in research collaboration, student and faculty exchanges, and joint degree programs.
Frémont expressed his delight at visiting SISU again and strongly supported the continued collaboration between the two universities in the field of the master’s dual degree programs. He specifically discussed the vital significance of the development of social sciences for the era and the world and expressed his expectation for the all-round cooperation with SUSU in the future.
After the meeting, the two parties signed the second-phase cooperation agreement for the master’s dual degree program in International Relations between SISU and University of Ottawa. Mao Xiaohong, Exective Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Professor Jin Jiyong, Vice Dean of the School of International Relations and Public Affairs, and Foreign Affairs Secretary Wang Lu attended the meeting.
