On October 29, 2012, Dr. S. Jaishankar, Indian ambassador to China, visited SISU and was greeted by professor Feng Qinghua, Vice President of SISU. Both parties signed memorandum of understanding on establishing Hindi language guest professorship sponsored by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (or ICCR) at SISU. Dr. S. Jaishankar expressed his hope to strengthen Chinese youth’s understanding of Indian culture. In this regard, ICCR will support the development of Hindi major at SISU by sending qualified Hindi teachers to the University.
