On May 15, 2012, Dr. Evgenios Kalpyris, the newly-appointed Consulate General of Greece at Shanghai visited SISU’s Songjiang campus and was greeted by Prof. Cao Deming, President of SISU, Prof. Lu Jingsheng, Dean of College of Western Languages and faculty members of Greek Language major.
SISU, the first university that opened the Greek Language major in China, has made great achievements in developing Greek language education within the nation. President Cao expressed sincere appreciation to Greek Consul for its past support, and expressed wish of continuing the cooperation.
Mr. Consulate General expressed his profound feelings for Chinese culture, and agreed to strengthen cooperation and further its support to SISU. After the meeting, he met students majoring in Greek Language, and highly praised their proficiency and academic achievement.
